Olga is originally from Moscow, where she received her education at the Stroganovskaya Commercial Art Institute. She worked for several years after her graduation in Moscow, working on projects for commercial and private institutions. Today, she lives and works in Atlanta. Her background in commercial art and interior design has allowed her to open her own business. She works in a number of different media, but concentrates on oil painting, which she uses to capture her unique multicultural perspectives.
"Analytical Cubism," is the term Olga uses to define her oil paintings. Creating one's own term for one's art might seem over the top, but it is a good fit for her work. Her paintings do not fit into any one category or art movement. She takes conventional subjects, landscapes, for instance, and deconstructs them in a unique way that is a reflection of her own maturing style.
Olga's works will grace the homepage of BoundlessGallery.com all month. They are unique, colorful, and even somewhat whimsical. She strives to deconstruct her subjects, reducing them to their elemental geometrical beginnings. Her vibrant colors are designed to garner an emotional response from the viewer.
"When I paint, I'm trying to discover the deeper meaning within any subject, the multiple facets to all things. For example, a tree branch with a leaf transforms into a magic prism or crystal, filtering and playing with the light from a distant star that brings life to the tree, and in turn, to us all. This is the ultimate goal of my art: to elicit an emotional response by revealing these co-existing layers of meaning in every subject."
