Rubric Experts Speaking in Silicon Valley

MaiMai News - March 06, 2007 - Rubric localization experts are coming to the Silicon Valley for a series of events at which they will share their knowledge and expertise on technology globalization.

"Sharing our knowledge is paramount," said Ian Henderson, Rubric's CEO. "Come April we are canvassing Silicon Valley, attending and conducting numerous events concerning technology localization and global technology markets."

"Rubric Week" will kick off on April 15th at the Software & Information Industry Association (SIIA) Tech Industry Summit. Rubric staff will attend and discuss with other members their work on SIIA's newly released "Globalization by Design" best practices document. Rubric led development of this document through SIIA's Executive Council on Globalization.

Later in the week Rubric executives, project managers, and customers will present a talk and case study at the Northern California Product Development and Management Association (PDMA). At the April 18th PDMA meeting, Rubric and their customer SumTotal Systems, will present the topic of "Keeping globalization on schedule - tactics you must take to complete product localization on time." Rubric helped SumTotal revolutionize their industry through expansion of SumTotal's "Languages Club", a concept that drove SumTotal product adoption through more than 20 different languages.

On April 19th, Rubric will host their first "Birds of a Feather" breakfast for 2007. Rubric "BOF's" are invitation-only gatherings of localization experts from Bay Area technology companies. At these events, Rubric staff share their knowledge on specific aspects of localization and global markets, and orchestrate group discussions where peers share tips and tactics among themselves. Previous BOF events have been attended by localization professionals from Adobe, ShoreTel, Verisign, ReplayTV and EFI.

"Amazing things happen when you bring together such strong minds," said Francoise Spurling, COO at Rubric. "The interaction between our customers in a non-sales setting is electric, and people make new friends and share ideas for localizing software, documentation and marketing materials."

"Rubric customers give us a 99% satisfaction rating," said Ian Henderson, CEO of Rubric. "This is due to many factors, where effective localization project management is central. Our 'Birds of a Feather' meetings are our way of bringing our insights and those of high-tech companies into one room. "
