Moving franchise to be established in the UK and Ireland

MaiMai News - DUBLIN, IRELAND, June 24, 2006 - The US-based Two Men and a Truck franchise, which provides moving and packing services for people moving homes and businesses, has expanded its service to Britain and Ireland.

It has recently announced that the master franchise rights for these countries will be held by NDMG Holdings, located in Dublin. This company plans to open more than 60 franchises and is confident of success.

Company owner Brian Hefferon said: "There is nothing quite like Two Men and a Truck available in Ireland and the United Kingdom."

Traditionally, many people in these countries have moved house with the help of family and friends but Mr Hefferon said he has noted a change over the last 20 years which he believes signifies a much greater need for a professional home moving service.

Most of the new houses built in the last 20 years are bigger than those built previously and more people can afford to own them, meaning that they need a truck to handle all their items when moving.

In addition, the number of immigrants coming to both the UK and Ireland to work has steadily increased and so the majority of them will need help when moving to their second home in these countries.

Two Men and a Truck appealed to NDMG Holdings because of the way it operates, as it customises the service to fit the needs of the people moving, no matter if they live in an apartment, bungalow or house.

The company says it has a number of specialist benefits for these people and business owners, such as allowing customers to set their own moving schedule, respecting the rules within different housing communities and being willing to make stops along the way and pick up items.

"We believe the best way to grow business is by making our customers so impressed with our service they will tell their family and friends.

"We recognised that Two Men and a Truck understands this and has developed a very customer focused business model that fits with our core values - it's not surprising how successful the system has become," said Mr Hefferon.

The family-run franchiser began in the 1980s and today there are franchisees in more than 170 locations across North America with nearly 1,200 trucks on the road.

In 2005, the company completed over 320,000 moves in North America resulting in an annual turnover of $181 million ( 99 million). It was named one of the top 50 US franchises by Franchise Business Review and for the 12th year in a row it appeared on Entrepreneur Magazine's Franchise 500 list.

Two Men and a Truck hopes to expand across [utl=http://www.franchisedirect.com/by_states.php?states=international]Europe, Asia, Australia and Mexico[/url] over the next few years.
