Student Entrepreneurs Line Up for Utah Student 25 Awards Gala

    SALT LAKE CITY, UT, October 30, 2009 MaiMai News -- Governor Gary Herbert will join academic and corporate leaders to recognize the Utah Student 25. This inaugural event recognizes the achievements of today's student entrepreneurs, the businesses they have created, and their economic impact. The black tie optional Awards Gala is scheduled for November 5th at the Grand America Hotel in Salt Lake City to announce this year's winners. Josh James and John Pestana, co-founders of student-founded tech leader Omniture, will join Steve Gibson and the Governor as Gala keynote speakers. Though seating is limited in this VIP-only event, select tables are still available for interested sponsors.
"Utah's economic resilience depends heavily on the state's entrepreneurial leadership celebrated by the Utah Student 25," stated Utah Governor Gary Herbert. "We applaud the boldness and vision of these emerging business leaders fostered by our great educational institutions. The seeds planted here hold the economic promise of tomorrow."
2009 Utah Student 25 finalists include both female and male entrepreneurs from the Brigham Young University, University of Utah, Utah State University, Utah Valley University, Weber State, and Westminster College. Their businesses represent a wide spectrum of industries including manufacturing, fitness, healthcare, services, construction, hi-tech, and finance, among others. The top 25 businesses have been selected based on revenue growth and profitability.
