MaiMai News - Vancouver, BC, September 19, 2008 - Talent representatives from NBC Universal, Los Angeles, will be in Vancouver next week to meet diverse actors for non-specific roles. Specifically seeking East Indian, African American, First Nation, Asian and Latino actors. This open call is part of the NBC DiverseCity Program and is designed to add diverse, new faces to production entities of NBC Universal and it's expanding talent pool for film and television (Psych, Battlestar Galactica and Eureka).
Vancouver has earned the nickname "Hollywood North" as many films and television shows have set up production in the area. Projects currently filming in Vancouver include the films CATS & DOGS 2, FAREWELL ATLANTIS, NIGHT AT THE MUSEUM 2, TOOTH FAIRY, SCOOBY DOO 3: UNLEASHED, and the Television Series EUREKA - SEASON 3, THE GUARD - SEASON 2, HARPER'S ISLAND, PSYCH - SEASON 3, REAPER - SEASON 2, SANCTUARY, SMALLVILLE - SEASON 8, STARGATE ATLANTIS - SEASON 5, STORMWORLD, SUPERNATURAL - SEASON 4, as well as several Mini-Series, Movies of The Week, and Pilots.
