Christopher Flach and The New York School of Interior Design present the documentary film entitled Madeleine Castaing on March 26th, 2008.

Madeleine Castaing (1894-1992) was a prominent antiquaire and interior decorator in Paris for more than fifty years. She and her husband Marcellin were key members of the artistic community of Montparnasse in the 1920s and 30s, and became friends with writers, musicians and artists. Among those artists Castaing was closest to was Chaim Soutine. Soutine was a frequent houseguest at the Castaing country home in L�ves. Soutine's 1929 portrait of Madeleine is now in the collection of the Metropolitan Museum.

About Christopher Flach
A New York City native, Flach has earned a PhD. He spent his early photographic years studying with Ansel Adams and Yousuf Karsh in Yosemite, California and more recently with Mary Ellen Mark. He has produced several short films that have screened at international film festivals and on PBS. Madeleine Castaing is his first documentary project.

The 34 minute film will be screened on Wednesday, March 26th, 2008 at 6:30 pm at the New York Schol of Interior Design auditorium at 170 East 70 Street, New York City.RSVP is required for the screening and reception to 212-472-1500 ext. 402
