Homeowners request Senators Obama and Biden to quickly prepare legislation to rollback bankruptcy laws to a point just before George W. Bush pushed through bankruptcy legislation to aid the credit card companies.

Senator Obama and Senator Biden disagree with the present bankruptcy laws. It is urged they call for special session of Congress on changing them before the election.Legislation for the People or for the select few?Legislation for the People or for the select few?
The occupants of this hallowed building must regain their integrity and climb out of the deep pockets of lobbyists and CEO's.    MaiMai News - West Haven, CT, September 18, 2008 - President Bush is totally to blame with some of his Republican lawmakers for the passage with a such a strict bill that now places extreme pain on homeowners that have been directly affected by the meltdown cause by greedy lenders and Wall Street Traders.

Yes, the U.S. Secretary of the Treasury, the Securities Exchange Commission, some members of Congress and the dysfunctional lame duck President have let the Wall Street Investment firms and mortgage lenders operate freely setting their own ways of doing business without any oversight by regulators, who were non-existent as this free-for-all took place which brought the economy of this country down to it's present level.

It would also be refreshing if the Presidential candidates would speak to the press, add substance to their claims of fixing the economy and detailing how they would go about it. By doing this, the American people would know exactly what they are talking about.

Congress, the lame duck president and all other government agencies must get out of bed with the credit card industry, which, through a strong lobby, managed to get the present bankruptcy laws passed. It's time for an adjustment to give some relief to middle america and stop bottle feeding large corporation by giving them large and obscene amounts of money as a gift to help them but with no thoughts of helping the people of these United States.

To the taxpayers that often are pundits of this, we say, the money given to the corporations has been a strain amounting to a hell of lot more than what it would take to help middle america. Just by the amounts already handed out by the government would pay the entire mortgages of all of the people already displaced and soon-to-be displaced. The present day pundits could and very well be the future foreclosed homeowners if the economy is left to spin more out of control, then, what will they be saying?

Wake up America and act together and strive for a better economy and put this housing and mortgage problem to sleep once-and-for-all. "A house divided, will not stand."

The Congress has to vote in a united way, without party haggling and the President has to finally have a conscience surface by signing the bill when it's passed by a sober and united Congress or this country will take years and years to ever get back to what it once was a short time ago.

The greed has to be curbed and measures must be taken to get the engine (middle-class) to get running again.

And for God sakes, regulate Wall Street and the Mortgage Industry or they'll just do it again, all they are is used car salesmen that are motivated by their own greed and then they just substantiate it with false balance sheet figures, claim ignorance and lie to cover themselves without a worry about the millions of American investors that have 401-K plans that are grossly affected from their games and manipulation of the financial sector.

Americans are resourceful and we will bounce back but this bleeding has to be stitched up and not just temporarily stopped with a band-aid.
