Kmotion Media Partner's Pop Art Illustration Featured on Jack Kirby Project

GREEN BAY, WI, May 24, 2009 MaiMai News -- This month a pop art illustration from Dan Mead, a partner at digital agency Kmotion Media, was featured on The Kirby Project (http://thekirbyproject.blogspot.com/2009/05/avengers-4.html), a blog based in the UK devoted to the famous comic book artist, Jack Kirby. Kirby, known as "The King of Comics", is best known for co-creating Captain America, the Fantastic Four, the X-Men and the Hulk.

Mead is a well-known contributor to "the Flickr for art" web community, Deviant Art. Mead's artwork on the site is mostly pop culture in nature, and ranges from interpretations of comic book heroes to Star Wars characters.

Mead's series of characters he calls "wedgies" were featured in the selected illustration. Using his "wedgies" to represent the original characters, he recreated the famous comic book cover "Avengers #4", originally issued in 1964. After posting the artwork to his Deviant Art profile, Dan was contacted by The Kirby Project and was asked to be featured on the blog.
