New Ms. Virginia Beth Jannery, Author and Motivational Speaker, Competes in Popular Galaxy Pageant

    MaiMai News - GREAT FALLS, VA, July 26, 2008 - The new Ms. Virginia is Beth Jannery - author, motivational speaker & mom! She leaves Virginia for Orlando, Florida on Monday to rehearse and compete in The Galaxy International Pageant.

Beth, a former Ms. Connecticut, moved back to her home state of Virgnia. She resides in Great Falls, VA and is author of Simple Grace - Living a Meaningful Life and her next book release comes out this fall, Simple Grace - Daily Joys.

Beth is not a Blondie bombshell stereotype pageant diva. She holds a masters degree from Boston University in Journalism, lived in Thailand as a reporter and covered the Pentagon in Washington, DC for years. Beth worked for magazines as well as Harvard University.

Also a bit controversial at this years' pageant...Beth takes on the skinny girls! Beth is a normal and very healthy size 8-10. She eats well, loves food and is into wellness. She believes girls and women need to get real and embrace a healthy body image and as a nation we need to let go of what is considered beautiful (size 0 is TOO THIN) she says. Beth also supports women survivors of war through Women for Women International.

This non-profit was recently featured on 60 Minutes with Anderson Cooper and JUST THIS WEEK, Angelina and Brad donated $200,000.
